When Donald Trump was still the captain of the American ship of state, it was smooth sailing in terms of our economy.
His tax cuts coupled with his order to the federal bureaucracy to gut two regulations for every new one added, along with his ‘America First’ trade agenda, which led to historic renegotiations of past lousy deals, had the U.S. economy running on all eight cylinders.
But all of that changed when Joe Biden’s handlers eased him into the Oval Office.
Immediately Biden canceled revenue-producing energy deals as his Democratic majorities in the House and Senate passed massive spending bills while at the same time providing Americans with incentives not to work, such as outsized unemployment benefits and rent moratoriums along with suspended eviction notices that were extended from last year during the COVID-19 crisis.
Massive spending using printed money with decreasing availability of goods and services is the perfect recipe for inflation, and we have it, in spades, thanks to Biden’s regime.
Yes, just six months in, Biden already owns the lousy, tanking economy he destroyed. And we know it’s only going to get worse.
We know this because the regime is pressing Democrats in Congress to extend a nationwide eviction moratorium so that millions of unemployed Americans who decided to stay on government welfare (unemployment) instead of getting a job aren’t turned into angry street mobs after they get thrown out of property they should have been paying for months ago.
And as usual, the regime is using the COVID pandemic as an excuse to continue cheating landlords and apartment owners out of revenue.
“Given the recent spread of the delta variant, including among those Americans both most likely to face evictions and lacking vaccinations, President Biden would have strongly supported a decision by the CDC to further extend this eviction moratorium to protect renters at this moment of heightened vulnerability,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement, The Epoch Times reported.
“Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has made clear that this option is no longer available,” she added.
The Epoch Times reported:
The CDC said last month it would not extend the eviction moratorium, after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a narrow 5-4 decision to leave the policy in place until the end of July. Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who cast the deciding vote, wrote in his concurring opinion that the CDC lacked authority to extend the ban again, unless by an act of Congress.
So that’s just what the administration is doing — calling on the Democrat-controlled Congress to take up the issue and pass a bill authorizing useless moratoriums, no doubt.
“We have the power to extend the eviction moratorium to provide relief, as we encourage state and local governments to distribute the money that we allocated,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a press statement.
“We must extend the eviction moratorium to provide more time for the funds to be disbursed.”
The multi-millionaire Speaker then went on to pretend like she’s just an average person who deals with hardship and poverty every day.
“I have seen families evicted from their homes. It is one of the most heartbreaking situations you can see: cribs and personal belongings put on the street for all to see or take, families suffering the indignity of being forced out of their homes and having to find shelter,” she claimed.
She’s full of it; this woman hasn’t seen much of anything except the lap of luxury for decades.
Nevertheless, it’s clear that inflation is driving this push.
USA Features News adds:
Biden’s tumbling approval rating comes as Americans across the economic spectrum have been hit with higher prices for just about everything they consume, though the cost of some items like lumber and automobiles have fallen in recent weeks.
But housing, food, and energy prices are all up and in some cases by double digits over prices just a year ago amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The regime is in trouble, but trouble of its own making. It’s not going to be easy to fix because they put the country on a path for self-destruction if they turn off the money spigots.
